Note to Gmail team:

google, buy pando.
For those of you who havent seen it yet, cheggit out. www.pando.com it's invite only right now, because of high demand, but if you're interested, let me know and i'll email you and you can get right in on it. pando is a little program that allows you to send any file (or files) of any size (although the beta supports only up to 1 gb per package) to anyone (they dont need to have a big enough inbox either, because pando hosts the files). It's under 3 mb. it works for Mac os and windows, and the linux release is coming soon. i'm mostly joking about gmail buying pando, although it would be nice... or at least some sort of agreement. i say that only because i'm afraid yahoo or someone else buying it. it's a very good service though, and i think gmail should take a couple of notes. as far as i'm concerned, gmail is the best email solution widely available right now, and i love most things about it. I think they do need to get with the times though. (not that they're behind anyone else. they're still above..) but i think anyone should realize that with over 2.5 gigs of storage, people are sending more than just plain text.
In fact, i've prolly shared over 50 songs with gmail friends, and i love my ability to do so. the problem is i feel like gmail doesn't cater to me as much as it should("me" meaning the group of people who use gmail for sharing files)
First of all, gmail needs a progress bar for uploading files. needs. When i send a file to someone, i have no idea that the page is even working until five minutes later, when it finishes uploading. that's a problem. gmail needs to fix that, but afaiac, pando does a great job of fixing that, so i'll use that.
The other thing gmail needs is a way to browse all attachments. I know you could make a filter or a search to just show emails with attachments, but that's not what i mean. I mean log in and view all the attachments i've sent/recieved as if on a local file system... only remote. Someone will do it! Be it gmail/yahoo/msn. Someone will, and once one does, they all will. Why not be the first? I would love the ability to look through all mp3 attachments that i've sent or recieved and have the ability to download any of them as easily as i should be able to. Maybe i'll log into ftp://gmail.com with my email name and password, and have all attachments (prolly not, but it would be nice)
I guess gmail doesnt have to do it. pando already did, and i like it a lot. It seems like it would be nice to have that integrated more nicely into my gmail though, and at the least gmail needs to let me browse my attachments. it's only a matter of time though.

p.s.i know i said "note to gmail team" don't think i'm under the impression that i'm writing this to them, or that they're reading it. :-p
